How to use this test

  1. Use white, gray and color screens at normal brightness.
  2. Look at the center, corners and each side without tilting the display.
  3. Repeat with a mid-gray screen because dirty screen effect is often easier to see there.
  4. Compare results with the backlight bleed and gradient tests.

What to watch for

  • Yellow, pink, green or blue tint on one side of the screen.
  • Dirty screen effect, cloudy gray areas or vertical bands.

Slight edge variation

Minor variation can be normal. Judge it against normal content, not only test screens.
